We will update this page every month with information regarding our club and all shows. Please read the information below as well as refering to the the terms and conditions agreed to when purchasing tickets before contacting us with individual inquiries. 

 

The End Of The Road

 

It is with great sadness that we have now had to also cancel our Grand Show featuring Sean Lock.

Due to unforeseen circumstances in Sean’s personal life he has had to remove many live shows from his diary including ours.

We are very sorry to everyone that was looking forward to this show as much as we were and hope you can understand how difficult this is for us to cancel both of our Grand Shows after not being able to fully open in a little over a year.

Unfortunately with shows like this there are costs that are unavoidable and certain businesses have already been paid for work already completed towards these shows, this has left us with a huge financial predicament that our business simply cannot work through.

I have taken a large personal loan to cover the costs mentioned above and to ensure everyone receives a full refund for tickets purchased however this will be the end of the road for the Torquay Comedy Club.

We are not a large business it is myself and my partner that arrange all of this and I hope you can appreciate how difficult this year has been on us and how equally difficult these decisions have been to make.

The same process will be in place for refunds as was for the cancelation of our Grand Show featuring Jason Manford.

All ticket holders have been notified of the cancelation with an email from TicketSource, if you cannot find the email please check your spam folder although we will also include the email information below.

Please note that TicketSource advise that refunds can take up to 14 days to appear in your bank accounts but usually appear much quicker than that.

The refund procedure is completely out of our hands and all enquiries should be directed to TicketSource directly at support@ticketsource.co.uk

I want to thank all of our amazing customers that have supported us throughout the years and for all of your words of encouragement during the last 12 months, we have built a lovely community since we opened and we will miss you all.

Jason Manford Grand Show Update

 

😢 Sad Update 😢

 

It is with a very heavy heart that we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel our Grand Show featuring Jason Manford.

 

We apologise for the disappointment this is sure to have caused to everyone that has tickets however with Jason Manford starting his own tour soon the only dates we were able to potentially secure would have been in August 2022!

 

This was an incredibly difficult decision for us to make however we do not believe it to be fair to ask you to wait until August 2022 to attend the show after the delays already caused due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

 

To cancel this show has cost us well over £10,000 and as a small family run business we hope you can appreciate how hard this has hit us financially in already testing times and we haven't taken this decision lightly.

 

Also please note this cancelation is relevant to our Grand Show featuring Jason Manford ONLY and we are almost ready to announce our new rescheduled dates for our Grand Show featuring Sean Lock.

March 2021 Update

 

We are excited to have reviewed the governments Covid-19 roadmap and optimistic for life to get back to some form of normality in the coming months. We are working tirelessly to arrange for our Grand Shows to be rescheduled and hope to have new dates available for you all soon. We are however still receiving emails with questions that have been answered previously so please see below information that should answer almost any question you may have to save you scrolling through our entire updates text.

 

An email has been sent to all ticket holders to our Grand Shows with full information on them being postponed, we will send another email with updates as soon as we have them.

 

If you believe you have not received our emails please check your spam/junk folder, If you still cannot find an email please contact TicketSource directly at support@ticketsource.co.uk as we have to use their messaging system to contact ticket holders as they are your original point of purchase.

 

The emails regarding our Grand Shows have also been uploaded below as well as across all of our social media platforms.

 

Refunds will be offered for people that are no longer able to attend the event or no longer wish to, details of obtaining refunds will be included in our upcoming emails in the next couple of weeks.

 

Thank you for your patience during these difficult times and I assure you we are working tirelessly to get these shows rescheduled as soon as we can.

February 2021 Update

I am sure it will come as no surprise that we have had to take the decision to once again postpone our Grand Shows that were due to take place on 26th March and 27th April.

I want to apologise to everyone for the disappointment this will have caused but I hope you understand the situation is out of our hands and is certainly for the best to postpone the shows until it is safe to host them again. We know so many of you are enjoying having an exciting event such as these to look forward to during difficult times for everyone.

We will be working tirelessly to find re-arranged dates as soon as we can and we will once again be informing all ticket holders with the new dates and anyone that is unable to now attend will be able to request a refund for your tickets however please read the email fully as refund requests will have a deadline.

January 2021 Update

Although it is impossible to tell at this stage when comedy gigs will be allowed again, we understand it is looking increasingly unlikely that our 2 Grand Shows due to be held in March and April of this year will be able to go ahead as planned. Rest assured we are working on this as fast as we can and will have an update available for you all soon.

November Update Part 2

As it has now been announced that the current lockdown restrictions are to ease on the agreed end date of 2nd December with the condition of specific locations remaining on a tier system we are awaiting to hear which tier Torquay/Devon will be entering to enable us to make appropriate decisions regarding any future shows. 

 

Please bear with us as we navigate these uncertain times, however we will be contacting all ticket holders directly should any shows be affected by the new restrictions. 

November Update Part 1

It is with great sadness that we have had to cancel our scheduled show on 27th November due to the newly announced second lockdown measures. As disappointing as this information is we understand it is important to follow the guidance set out by the government to keep everyone safe. 

All ticket holders have been contacted directly and given the option of transferring their tickets to our 18th December show or receiving a refund for their tickets. 

As this new lockdown has a provisionally agreed end date we are pleased to say no further shows are currently affected by the changed however we are continuously monitoring the situation closely and will update all ticket holders directly and display full information here if we have to make any further changes. 

October Update

Currently there is no change to the information presented below.

September Update

We are now in a position to host indoor shows with stringent safety measures in place including strict social distancing that goes above and beyond what is required by law. We have made our full risk assessment available for anyone to access HERE. 

We want everyone to be able to enjoy an evening with us in comfort and therefore we have done more than is necessary to ensure our customers feel relaxed and safe. August Update 2

I have had to take the unfortunate and difficult decision to postpone our Grand Show featuring Sean Lock again. 
When we first postponed our Grand Show featuring Sean Lock in March to 16th October it felt a sensible and realistic option however with that date now only 8 weeks away we have had to take the unfortunate and difficult decision to postpone it again.

 

With socially distanced indoor performances now allowed to continue again we are confident that we are on the right track and soon we will be in a position to host this show again which is why we have postponed this show until Friday 26th March 2021. 

All tickets remain valid and transferable to the new date so please keep them safe as you don't need to do anything other than mark the new date in your calendar and enjoy the show, we are very excited to bring this amazing show to you all and would like to apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused, after speaking to Sean Locks team I understand he too is disappointed however is still very much looking forward to performing for you all.

August Update

As restrictions have been eased we have been able to begin hosting some forms of shows including our 'Alfresco Shows' however as of 15/08/2020 it has been announced that socially distanced indoor live performances are now allowed to begin again. We will be announcing new dates and line-ups on our website and all social media channels as soon as we can. 

July Update 

Some very welcome and positive news was announced on 23rd June that some several industries and business are allowed to re-open although that doesn't include us, as we are classed as live performances (see extract from government guidance below), it is certainly a step in the right direction albeit frustrating and we are sure we will be able to return soon in some form and will be bigger and better than ever. 

The date for refunds for our rescheduled Grand Shows has passed and we have issued all refunds quickly and efficiently, whilst we appreciate for some a refund was the best cause of action we would like to thank everyone that chose to keep hold of their tickets and we can't wait to see you all at the show.

Government guidance published on 24th June 2020 "At this time, venues should not permit live performances, including drama, comedy and music, to take place in front of a live audience."

June Update - Rescheduled Grand Shows

First of all I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience whilst we tried to arrange for our Grand Shows featuring Sean Lock and Jason Manford to be rescheduled, I really appreciate you standing by us through these difficult times.

I am pleased to announce that we have secured a new date for both shows and ticket holders have been informed of the new details with ll relevant information. 

All tickets will remain valid and be transferred to the new dates so you don't have to do anything else other than mark the date in your diary and enjoy the show! These are definitely not to be missed.

First Grand Show featuring Sean Lock - Rescheduled date 16th October 2020.

Second Grand Show featuring Jason Manford - Rescheduled date 27th April 2021.

We are pleased and excited to be bringing some comedy legends to Torquay for what is set to be 2 amazing nights of comedy!

June Update - Part 2 Sean Lock

It is with great pleasure that we are confident we will be able to announce the new re-scheduled date for our Grand Show featuring Sean Lock in the next couple of weeks.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst we worked as hard and as fast as we could to find a date that enables all companies needed to bring a show like this to fruition to confidently agree on a date that they believe will be business as usual. 
We will inform ticket holders first of the new re-scheduled date by email to the email address provided when purchasing tickets along with all other information regarding tickets as soon as we can but certainly no later than the next few weeks.

June Update - Part 1 Jason Manford

We're sure it will come as no surprise that unfortunately the likelihood of us being able to safely host an event with over 1000 people in close proximity in 5 weeks’ time is almost nonexistent and have therefore had to take the sad decision to postpone our 4th July Grand Show.

We apologise for leaving it this late however we needed to see how the situation evolved and make the right decision accordingly. We would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for the disappointment this has caused however we would like to re-assure you that we are working tirelessly to find a date to reschedule the show that is suitable for all of the many companies that are involved in bringing a large show such as this one to fruition.

We will announce the new date as soon as we have it, although please be patient as it may take a little time for the various industries to confidently agree on a future date where they will be back to business as normal.

All tickets will remain valid and transferred to the re-scheduled date and full details will be provided within the email we send containing the re-scheduled date regarding moving forward, of course your legal rights are not affected and we will be following all procedures necessary to conform with the appropriate legislation from the point of announcing the re-scheduled date as is required by law.

Once again, we would like to apologise for the disappointment however I hope you agree it is certainly the most sensible course of action for us to take given the circumstances.

May Update

We have no plans to cancel or postpone any further shows we have booked however we are following all guidance and advice set out by the government and will notify all ticket holders to any shows via the email provided at the point of purchase if any amendments have to be made. 

April Update

We have unfortunately had to cancel both our May birthay show and our Edinburgh preview shows due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. It is with great regret we have had to take this action however it is a small price to pay for us to do our part in helping fight the virus and keeping everyone safe. 

All ticket holders have been notified and we have complied with their chosen option regarding refund options available to them. 

Hopefully we will be able to bring our usual high quality shows to the good people of Torquay again soon. 

 

March Update

Due to the current situation we have had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone our 4th April Grand show.

Luckily as the show has been postponed as opposed to cancelled no-one needs to do anything else as all tickets will remain valid and usable at our re-scheduled date.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused however following such a huge and positive response to bringing a high quality show such as this to the good people of Torquay we are pleased to be able to re-arrange the show until later in the year so people can still enjoy it instead of cancelling the show altogether.

Full details about the re-scheduled date and information will be available when we can however a show of this size has many workers and companies coming together to bring it to fruition meaning this may take some time to iron all the details out but we will keep you informed along the way.

Currently there is no plan to cancel or postpone any other shows and we are continually reviewing them on a day by day basis as the situation changes so quickly.

We appreciate how disappointing this situation is however it's worth saying that we are a small local business with the only intention of bringing high quality entertainment to Torquay and like many others out there we are dealing with a situation that is quite frankly out of our control.


The vast majority of you, I'm sure, are very understanding of such a difficult situation and we would like to thank you for your continued support.
